ARIA LENS

About Me

I'm Aria Chen,
photographer.

Based in Portland, Oregon, I've spent the last eight years chasing light — in grand cathedrals and wild forests, across boardrooms and beachside ceremonies.

My work lives at the intersection of documentary honesty and fine art beauty. I believe the most powerful photographs happen when subjects forget the camera is there — and that's when I press the shutter.

When I'm not shooting, you'll find me hiking the Columbia River Gorge, obsessing over film photography, or teaching workshops on light and composition.

My Approach

Light. Emotion. Story.

Every session begins with a conversation. I want to understand who you are, what this moment means to you, and what you want to feel when you look back at these images decades from now.

I work primarily in natural light, chasing the golden hours of morning and evening. When artificial light is needed, I use it sparingly and craft it to feel natural.

Post-processing is handled with a light touch — I enhance what's already there rather than creating something artificial. My edits are timeless, not trendy.
